Some highlights from Gideon Oberson's legacy
- Starting in the '60s, young Oberson was famous for designing a line of slim dresses, extra fabric layers combinations, accessories, and asymmetric shapes.
- Inspired by the French fashion while adding an Italian twist, Oberson left his unique mark in Israel due to the European chic he brought here.
- In the '70s, Oberson made designs for Maskit Fashion House, while also becoming an international star and NIBA Fashion's main designer.
- The colorful '80s brought massive accessories and over-the-top, sensational clothes.
- The '90s upgraded the previous '80s fashion, and swimsuits turned into tremendous success. Bronze and sculpting became strong and dominant in Oberson's work.
- In the 2000's, Oberson kept his unique line as a designer. He has been Gottex Swimwear's lead designer since 2004.
With all these achievements under his belt, it is no wonder Oberson was nicknamed "the genius who creates poetry out of clothing".
