The Dimwit from Kfar Azar

 Story Gardens

quote

“Oh yes, I’m lucky today, because I found a place
To rest here on the train. It’s so good to sit down.
With no one in the car, the dimwit fell asleep,
And so he slept another hour or two, till he opened his eyes.
The car wasn’t moving, it was still. This must be the station!”

Alex Padua and Sefi Hefetz of I2D Design Ltd. designed a sculptural installation inspired by the hero of The Dimwit from Kfar Azar by Leah Goldberg. In the spirit of the story, the installations are all mixed up: the lawn is paved while the walk is grassy; the benches are installed at absurd angles, while other benches turn out to be spotlights, slides and see-saws. The row of benches represents the train going nowhere.

The sculpture is located in a park designed by landscape architect Bruce Levin at the corner of David Elazar and Menahem Begin streets.
