Artist Ziv Ben Dov designed three sculptures for the garden, each one consisting of an upside-down umbrella and abstract figures representing the characters in the story – Ruthie, Ronny, Ruthie’s mother and Ronny’s father.
The painted steel and aluminum sculptures are 4.8 meters tall, and deal with variations of the relationship between the characters in Ruthie’s Umbrella by Dina Dzatelovski, who lived in Holon and was a pioneer of Israeli puppet theater. The sculpture is located in a garden designed by landscape architect Carmela Gabriel on Shimon Avidan Street.
