תיאור
The Holon Municipality is expanding its international connections: the Mayor of Holon, Moti Sasson, and senior managers in the Municipality, met with delegations from three cities around the world – Binhaiwan District in Dongguan, Guangdong Province (China), Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and Suresnes (France).

Dongguan District is the fourth in terms of size in China, and it has about 8 million people. A pact of friendship was signed between this district and the city of Holon four years ago, in 2015. At the current meeting, the Mayor of Binhaiwan was present, Binhaiwan being one of the largest cities in the district, and the most developed. During the meeting between professionals from both cities, it was decided to expand the collaboration in the fields of sport, business and education.

Sasson also hosted another respected delegation, from Tashkent in Uzbekistan. The visit was attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Israel, Mr. Said Rustamov, and the Deputy Governor of Tashkent, Davron Khidoyatov. They were joined by the President of the Holon Institute of Technology, Prof. Eduard Yakubov. During the interesting meeting, the guests expressed their desire to learn from the experience of Holon with regard to the issue of a “smart city”. They also met, therefore, with the VP of Operations and Administration, Erez Eli, and heard from him about innovative projects in the city regarding transportation, urban policing, public involvement, and more. The guests expressed particular interest in the metro project, the fiber optic cables spread throughout the city, the wide deployment of cameras, the connection of garbage trucks to the Waze application, and the matter of residents' requests directly reaching the cell phones of municipal employees in the field to expedite the handling of hazards.

The following day, Mayor Sasson met in his office with Mr. Testud, Deputy Mayor of Suresnes, France, with which the Holon Municipality signed a sister cities agreement some 30 years ago. It was a warm meeting, and Mayor Sasson invited his colleague to go together and watch a game of HaPoel Holon in Toto Hall that was taking place that evening. Mr. Testud immediately agreed, and the two enjoyed a game in which HaPoel Holon defeated its opponent, HaPoel Rishon LeZion.
