Yom HaAliyah (Aliyah Day or Immigration Day), observed on December 18th, is a national holiday that honors immigration to Israel from around the world. This year, the annual event at the Steinberg Music Center focused on themes of community resilience and mutual trust.
Holon Mayor Shai Keinan delivered a speech, noting that Holon welcomed 190 new immigrants this year. Becky Sereche, head of Holon’s Department of Immigration and Absorption, also addressed the audience.
The event featured a moving mix of Russian, Ukrainian, Hebrew, and Amharic, with performances by singers and dancers, including Diana Zinger, The Pitches, opera singer Konstantin Kotelnikov, and others.
Alongside the performances, an art exhibition showcased works by immigrant artists living in Holon, celebrating the significant contributions immigrants bring to the community across diverse art forms.
